The gifts of the Spirit have been given to the Church as the weapons of our warfare.  When Jesus came to earth, He functioned only within the framework of the gifts of the Spirit.   The ministry we do here on earth is directed by and through the power of the Holy Spirit and functions through the framework of the gifts of the Spirit — just like Jesus.  The Body of Christ is always an advancing army; we do not retreat.  The gifts are our weapons of warfare.
